Skeletons are one of the most "common" of undead made from the bleached white bones of any dead creature. Lesser skeletons -- or any kind of lesser animation -- are given the ability to move, act, and understand simple commands. Raised by magic or misticism, skeletons are hardy, "cleaner" than zombies, and walk with the unnerving clacking and creaking of bone.
Animal Lore 3 / Magic Lore 3 / Mistic Lore 3
Toughness: Skeletons can posses normal humanoid hits up to 16 hit points (Constitution); toughness can depend on the type of skeleton animated (the remains of a tougher creature often yield a tougher skeleton); some may possess Feats of Speed
Weapons: Skeletons can be animated to wield any number of weapons; skeletal claws often inflict Light or Critical damage
Special Abilities: lesser skeletons possess no real skills or abilities; skeletons, by their bony nature, are often resistant to piercing attacks
Weaknesses: impact damage does not necessarily inflict additional damage (depending on the age and strength of the bones used in animation); skeletons are affected by Turn Undead
Animal Lore 5 / Magic Lore 5 / Mistic Lore 5
Special Abilities: skeletons are not affected by poisons, gases, mental attacks, or any other attack that requires a living physiology; the magic of the animation requires the entire body to be destroyed (simple decapitation does not always end the creature)
Weaknesses: lesser Turn Undead invocations will cause skeletons to flee, sometimes Turn Undead can cause minute damage, greater Turn Undead invocations can destroy skeletons completely
Animal Lore 6 / Magic Lore 6 / Mistic Lore 6
Life Sense: skeletons do not need to see to target creatures; they sense the living things around them; Feign Death may be used to avoid their life sense
{An Arche of Spirit level equal to the listed Lore levels will grant the same information.}
