A Reiellan ship, recently docked, was burned to the waves a few days ago. There were no survivors. The ship was called the Pole Cat.
Healing magics are being stockpiled by the House of Healers.
Spring warmth slowly spreads north. A number of the northern passes and outposts in the mountains are thawing. People are coming down out of the mountains and the wilds to trade and resupply.
The Wardens of Dawn, an adventuring company from Darkwell, have stopped in the city and are staying at the Laughing Fountain.
There has been a great deal of activity at the House of Healers. A small number of the city's children have fallen ill. (Though, in comparison to Darkwell, the number is much smaller.)
There has been unusual activity at the Hall of the Academy.
Rumors are that the Wardens of Dawn have killed a handful of children, the children of important people.
Some people have complained of poor night's rest, bad dreams, and lack of sleep. Dreams are often itense and frightening but are forgotten upon waken.
There are rumors that there are strange creatures in the deep wilderness. Some say they are giants, some say they are wild animals, some say it may be a dragon.
A handful of the Wardens of Dawn have been about Darkhigh asking questions of merchants, shops, guards, and citizens.
A handful of children have gone missing since the Turn of the Year. Some have been found wandering the area around Darkhigh.
Crime has been on the rise since the Turn of the Year.

The Wardens of Dawn are on a mission for the High Academy in Darkwell.
There have been sign of the Hand Macabre everywhere in the city. Graffiti, watchwords, and cantsign have been left on walls, doors, and tavern tables.
Dorsetta Queenivy, a Baroness and widow, was accused of infanticide and remains under house arrest. Her daughter, aged four, was found drowned in the Queenivy mansion's well. The mansion is in the Nobles District of Darkhigh.
People in hushed tones and worried glances tell of strange dreams that began sometime as far back as the end of summer. Though they cannot remember much of the dream, they do recall that they were fearful, anxious, and cold. Some people tell of dreams about children.
Magic has been strange in the city. Mages have noted a strange twinge, a strange reverberation, a strange ripple in the lines.
A handful of people report dreaming about their children and strangely being afraid of their children.
The Mark of the Unnamed has been painted on a handful of people's doors. The accusations have been proven false, but the acts have stirred some distrust among citizens.
A worker by the name of Gerick Limms fell off a warehouse roof he was reparing and died of a broken neck. Rumors are that it was no accident.

The Academy Hall has been busy investigating the sudden failure of magic items in the city. Items of divination seem to be the most affected. The Hall assures people that there is nothing to be concerned with.
Lavisitis, a rogue and member of the company Wardens of Dawn, has been searching the city for sellers of Icuni artifacts.
There has been activity, moreso than usual and carefully guarded from outside eyes, at the Hall of the Sisterhood (though it is much smaller compared to the one in Darkwell). An increased number of Brotherhood members now walk about the Hall.
A group of mages traveling from the northeast, possibly from Sanctar, passed through two weeks prior to the arrival of the Wardens of Dawn. They were travel worn and in a hurry. They also stayed at the Laughing Fountain and supposedly were from the Academy.
Disturbing graffiti has popped up all over the city. The message "I RETURN FROM DARKNESS" has been hastily, sometimes gougingly, scrawled in random places. No one knows who has been leaving the watchwords.
